Partnership Plan 2015-20

The Nottingham Crime and Drugs Partnership (CDP) is a multi-agency organisation responsible for tackling and addressing crime and substance misuse in Nottingham. We are made up of a number of statutory and non-statutory agencies including the Police, the City Council, the Fire and Rescue Service, the Probation Service, Public Health and the Clinical Commissioning Group, Health providers, the Drug and Alcohol Action Team, the City’s two universities, Nottingham City Homes, the Business Community and voluntary sector organisations such as Victim Support and Neighbourhood Watch.

We are a statutory partnership under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, which requires all key agencies in Nottingham to work together in the prevention of crime. These partnerships are known nationally as Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) and were established on the understanding that the causes of crime are complex and that no single agency holds the key to reducing crime and its impact on society. Thus, crime reduction and prevention is not the sole responsibility of the police and the key to tackling crime is through multi-agency working that addresses not only enforcement but prevention as well.
